Celebrating everyday heroes in East Boston and beyond through song.
Portraits of Us is a musical celebration of the everyday heroes in our lives, with a special focus on East Boston. Composers/songwriters Andrés Ballesteros and Angelina Botticelli, both Eastie residents, have written new songs inspired by everyday heroes in our lives: parents, teachers, neighbors... We have also worked with youth (Portraits Fellows) from around Greater Boston to create their own "portrait songs."
We invite YOU, our community, to join this kaleidoscope of songs at our celebration on Saturday, May 30, including (if you feel inspired) an opportunity to sing alongside us!
This project was made possible thanks to support from a Neighborhood Activation Grant from the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture. This event is a collaboration of J. Andrés Ballesteros Music and ZUMIX.
