Let’s talk about ways to strengthen your arts organization or personal project!
I bring a focus on inclusive practices to my work with organizations and individuals. I have consulted on these issues for many groups, spoken at national conferences, and received recognitions for my work and activism. Some ways we can work together include:
Community engagement & DEIA planning
I can help your group find ways to ethically collaborate with community organizations, explore methods for improving internal practices, and think holistically about how community engagement and programming can work together for you and your organization.
While my community work is mostly centered in Boston, I have provided support to groups across the country.
Grants and marketing
Each funder, project, and organization is unique. Let’s work to tell your or your organization’s story!
I can help write or revise your grant applications to tell the story that best presents your organization to each funder, or provide advice on what stories fit with your event/organization.
And more!
Support in repertoire selection, with a focus on music by women, composers of color, and other historically marginalized groups.
Helping individuals and small ensembles plan out the lifecycle of an event, from ideation to funding to production and closure.
Developing educational programs and training teaching artists in research-informed, developmentally appropriate pedagogical practices.
Selected Projects
Publicly pushed the Boston Symphony Orchestra to make its repertoire selections more inclusive starting with their 2017-18 season (as covered by the Boston Globe), increasing representation of women and BIPOC composers onstage from 1.3% to approximately 30%.
Oversaw the rehaul of Boston Arts Academy’s music history curriculum to be more diverse and inclusive and provided advice on diversifying repertoire selections.
With the Ballets Russes Arts Initiative (BRAI), co-produced their first orchestral concert ever: a celebration of women composers, including a new orchestration by Patricia Wallinga of a piece by Fanny Mendelssohn, funded by the first grants in BRAI’s history.
