Enjoy this recording of the ISU Concert Choir premiering my “Gaudete” in Illinois! Seeing as it's inspired by (and takes a bit from) a 16th-century Christmas carol, this seems like a good time to toss it out in the world.

I'm delighted and honored to announce that my new piece "Gaudete" has been selected as the winner of this year's Red Note New Music Composition Competition in the choral category! The ISU Concert Choir will premiere the piece on 26 March 2017 in Normal, IL for those who happen to be in the area. Look for more upcoming news regarding the festival!
Production has wrapped up and we're into post for the short films "Some of His Things", written and directed by fellow Boston Arts Academy teachers Chris Flaherty and Dan Sullivan; and BAA student Jeyrie Rodriguez's film "Unbalanced". Special thanks to film teacher John ADEkoje for making all of this possible.

Having just returned from a week of intense leadership development in the mountains of North Carolina with the Byron Fellowship, I am now back in Massachusetts for Harvard's Summer Composition Institute with Chaya Czernowin, Hans Tutschku, and Steven Takasugi.
For those in the New England area, I'm happy to invite you to two nights of premieres. The Talea Ensemble will present works by a dozen contemporary composers, including my own Doxology, for mixed quartet. The concerts will take place on 24 and 25 August at 8pm in Paine Hall in Cambridge, MA.

The live recording of the Brattle Street Chamber Players' premiere of "Shaheed" is now in the orchestra page, and a recording from a session with a few Boston-area jazz musicians of my new piece "A Rose for Violet" is available in the chamber/solo section. As you may have noticed, I've been moving the site's music to SoundCloud, a great service which lets you see the shape of the sound of a piece and lets people comment on certain moments in the piece. I highly recommend you check it out if you have a few minutes!

The Brattle Street Chamber Players, an eclectic string orchestra here in Cambridge, has commissioned a new work for their 4 November 2011 concert. I'm working hard on the piece and I hope it's up to par with these fantastic players! A special thanks to my friend, cellist Luc Werner, who suggested the commission.
