An exploration of immigration for orchestra and optional children’s chorus.

Voces was co-created with immigrant youth from Chelsea, MA. During the process, the youth learned to play recorders and created musical motifs that became the basis of this piece, which also quotes traditional songs from our countries of origin. Voces opens with a sound collage of responses to the question "What does it mean to you to be an immigrant?"
